Leaking coolant

Is the coolant clean that leaks out? Have you put a newspaper under the car to try and isolate the leaks location by the drip stains? Likely spots are the engine water pump and hose connection points at have worked loose. If the leak seems to come from the rear of the engine it may be a leaking heater core, in that case you should have a kind of sweet smell (the smell of vaporized coolant) in the cabin when the heater is on.

Security light stays on

This is an all too common problem with GM vehicles. Unfortunately it can be a very expensive fix, but it is rather easily permanently bypassed. Hundreds of dollars cheaper too. Check out this link, it has a ton of info on how the system is supposed to work and possible ways to fix this yourself.

How do i remove the drivers rear axle in a 2002

you will need to remove differential cover. drain out old fluid first! rotate the axle so you can get to the cross pin, and remove it by undoing a bolt that holds it in place. be careful to not let cross pin get lodged where you can not extract it ! the axles are held in by a c-clip on each one. then slid axle out. you may need to push on outer end of axle to release the c-clips. good-day !

Horn doesnt work chevy avalanche

  • The junction box under the hood Udrivers side by the battery) has a relay and a fuse that is the power feed for the horn. Start with checking them.

I have a 2002 chevy

I am assuming you took the pin in the center out already. All you have to do is push the axles in towards the differential and they clips usually fall out. some times there is a rubber Oring that secures them on, but all you have to do is push the clips off.

I smell gas and my

Need to find out what code(s) may be stored. That should give you the correct answer. Anything else will just be guess work and the usually ends up in a lot of parts being thrown at it.
But since you smell fuel and there is a light and it happened at the same time??? Check and make sure your fuel cap is on correct and tight. Also check out the fuel filler pipe and fuel tank area. Some low-life **** may have cut the filler neck or something to steal fuel.

2002 Chevy Avalanche. Sometimes

The problem with the remote starter may just be a coincidence. This could be a wiring issue or an issue with one part or its connections. First inspect the relay for the low beam. Check if there are dirt or rust on the terminal where you plug it in. Try swapping a similar relay and check if the issue goes away. It may also be just a bad relay.

Other than that check the wiring. The starter should not affect the beam unless wires have been loosen or disconnected by accident. Check also for exposed conductors or worn out insulation. These needs to be replaced.

2002 chevy avalanche died at a stop light and now

Those are known for having the fuel pump go out. Take the gas cap off, open the little steel door with a screwdriver and have someone turn the key forward, not cranking it over, just turn it until all the dash lights come on and see if you can hear the fuel pump kick on for about 2 seconds. You definitely need 2 people to do this. If you can hear the fuel pump then its probally not getting spark.

02 avalanche check engine light

Start by making sure the gas cap is secure and tight which can cause this. The most common cause is a random misfire. Your vehicle is 9 years old, so replace the spark plugs and plug wires. Have the check engine light reset and it should solve your problem. If not, have it diagnosed by a professional with a code reader.

Wont start some times

GM's are notorious for failing anti theft systems. This system disables the starter and intermittently will cause the vehicle to not start. Check out this link for more symptoms, info, pictures, and do it yourself solutions. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
