2002 Chevrolet Avalanche - Page 2 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Chevy reduced engine power
check all harness connections for water
check for water at the ecm connections if under bonnet
check for water wet air filter
good motto --don't drive through water deeper than the tires from road to rim
Upgraded 456 gears on my Avalanche now having warning lights on
rubbish
the abs sensors stopped wheels not fast spinning wheels
when there is no signal from the rotor the abs kicks in and releases he brake pressure to that wheel/s allowing them to turn to give the driver steering control
as the abs and traction control use the same wheel sensor , the traction could detect a fast spinning wheel and take action to control it
you have upgraded the final drive ration to 4.56 from standard which will be 3 point something which will make the engine rev higher to get the same speed
and that could be where the problem is coming from as there is a connection between the engine rpms and the road speed and the preset parameters may be not reading the new settings from the new diff ratio
putting on the lights and dropping power
Parasitic drain in my truck
either remove the battery terminals each stopping point
until you check starter and ignition and alternator
if the parasitic drain started straight after the radio install
return to that after market installer
and get them to explain why
Will crank position sensor make my 2002 avalanche turn off when engine warms up
I assume you are reading a code. First check wiring and make sure there are no greenies in the connector. Spray a little WD40 or contact cleaner before putting the connector back together. But as a solid state device, they are subject to heat failure - especially after this many years. They are usually simple to replace and inexpensive. Not knowing engine size, its difficult to guide you how to locate it but it will be near the main crankshaft where the belts are located and is fed by three wires, generally in a protective sleeve.
