the radiator fans use a fuse, relay, temperature sensor which the computer controls to turn on the fans at the specified temperature.you don`t say if this problem occurred when the blower motor fan fuse was removed.it is not uncommon for the rad cooling fans to seize and not work, the blower motor uses an electronic resistor block on the air box under the hood with i think about 6 wires in the plug and is about 3.5"long and 1"wide.held by 2 bolts(screws).this is feed power all the time and when the control switch is turned for different fan speeds the switch grounds the circuit.at times the resistor shorts causing the fan to run continually.i think you need a new resistor to fix this problem.
MY DIGITAL ODOMETER IN MY 97 BUICK REGAL IS OUT.
You can try an inexpensive fix. Remove the instrument cluster, you should see four resistors in an area of the board that in a 1997 should be cold solder jointed. Re-solder or replace them and it should come right back in. This is a well known problem with older Buick, olds and gm

Please check your engine oil- hope the oil change was done recently , if not check the quality of the oil, it can be reduced oil pressure at high RPM that the oil pump is not working well due to a clogged oil filter.
Secondly check the fuel settings and firing timings.
Do you need to prime a thermostat on a 97 buick
I would diffidently test it even new thermostats are defective ,, Boil some water get some string and lower the thermostat in measure the temperature to what the thermostat is set for ,,,if it opens at that temp your good if not get another.
Motor only works in high position in 97 regal gs
I am assuming you are talking about the blower motor , in the old days it was a resistor module that would go bad but on your buick its called an electronic blower control module and is mounted right by the blower motor under the passenger side dash.
1998 regal s/c will start
I had the exact same problem and after changing all the sensors in the engine it still didnt fix the problem So i focused on the fuel system and did a fuel pressure test and found that my fuel pressure regulator was the problem. I found this to be a common problem and if you dont have any check engine lights on then i would go this route the price of the regulator ranges anywhere from 45-95 dollars depending where you buy it.
