Car trouble!
Hello -
Check to ensure that all your tires have the same size numbers on them, and have the same pressure in them, following manufacturer's recommendation, or the max spec on the tire sidewall, whichever you choose.
The problem having begun with the slashed tire may be coincidental, but AWD doesn't like it when there are different sized tires on the vehicle. It causes the gears to fight themselves, and can cause irregular tire wear, and eventual drive line failure.
Engine wont start back up
So no solenoid click or anything? IF the solenoid at least clicks but the starter don't spin then it could be the starter itself is getting hot and not wanting to work until it cools down.
If it don't click then the same could be true for the solenoid itself.
Do the lights dim when you try to start it? If not it could be the ignition switch itself is not making contact after it gets warm.
The only way to know if you are getting power to the solenoid is to have someone turn the key to the 'start' position while you use a test light on the small terminal on the solenoid,
I'm not saying this is absolutely the problem but I've seen these cases on different vehicles.
Hope this helps.

Security lockout
The security icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

1996. How do I install a front differential?
Pull the axles. remove the cover and drain. Remove the bearing caps. Be careful because some diffs will fall out. Other wise pry it out. Watch the shims on each side. Keep them to they're sides. Reinstall it.
