It may be that the rubber grommet that the PCV valve plugs in to is aged and brittle, preventing the collar on the PCV valve from coming through. You may need to remove both the valve and the grommet and purchase a replacement grommet that is more pliable and allows the valve to be mounted more easily.

try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Then if you have a remote lock, lock and unlock three times in a row as this will often reset the computer. Or, borrow a code reader from one of the parts stores and see what codes are stored. Once you have the code, go online and Google it.

It sounds like it could be low on transmission fluid. Or you are having trouble with the throttle assembly. Not sure what type of 98 truck you are talking about, but here are some causes of not wanting to drive. Fuel filter plugging off, transmission not full of fluid, spark plugs are worn out, or fuel pump is not giving you enough fuel (normally a fuel filter will be the best bet).

it could be your timing chain and gears going out.

Sounds like you might have a universal joint going out of the drive shaft or a rear wheel bearing going bad. I would check the universal joint first. You may have to pull it out of the truck to determine if it is bad or not as it is just starting to go bad and then again you may be able to push up and down on it while in the truck and check for movement in the joint. I would doubt the rear end has any problem because as you said the fluid is clean and no metal detected in it. If it is not broke don't bother with the fluid. Hope this helps.

Most of the time this is cashed by a key fob that has malfunctioned either due to weak battery, some foreign contamination or just amalfunction. Remove the battery from all the fobs and see it it stops. If so put battery back i. One and wait. If still functions fine put battery in other. Thus PROCESS SHOULD Reveal Which One Is The culprit.
