Welcome to Fixya
If the battery is drained. The first this that you need to check is to test the voltage of the battery. Get hold of a voltmeter and see if you are getting below 12.4v reading. If you are getting below 12v then there is definitely a short somewhere. Here's how to find what causing the drain:
1 Turn off everything in your car and remove the keys from the ignition. Remove the black (-) battery cable and connect a test light to the (-) terminal. Connect the opposite end of the test light to the black (-) battery cable you just removed.
2 Observe the glow of the test light. A bright glow indicates a significant parasitic battery drain.
3 Remove each one of the fuses from your fuse panel. Refer to the owner's manual to find the vehicle's fuses and diagrams. Leave the test light on while removing the fuses. Remove and replace each fuse one at a time.
4 Find the circuit responsible for the battery drain by paying attention to see if the test light goes out after you have removed a specific fuse.

When i switched on "AC"
Please check the idling speed before and after the compressor is switched on. The idle speed must increment when the compressor comes on as the fuel settings will change.
If there is no increase of the engine speed then the settings of the fuel must be checked.
Also check the belt , timing and fuel settings.
Finally if the above seems good the compressor / solenoid must be checked.
The radiator fan still working
That is what it is supposed to do. There is a temperature switch that opens and closes as the coolant reaches certain temps. When it reads those temps it turns the fans on or off as needed. Your fan circuit is separate from your ignition to allow it to keep the engine cooled down after you shut the car off. This prevents possible damage to the engine due to heat. Today's engine have a lot more aluminum in them and it is affected by heat more so than the old cast iron engines. It is more noticable in warm weather because things heat faster and cool slower. Unless the fans run steady or not at all, you should be okay. Turning on the A/C will turn them on quicker and longer because it makes the engine work a lot harder. Hope this helps.
In winter time my 2004
hi.
it is possible that the battery is at fault
if you have a DIESEL engine, then the fault is far more likely to lie with the engine preheat plugs (glow plugs) these are needed far more in the cold weather to pre heat the cylinder to allow the diesel to ignite. one or more faulty glow plugs will cause starting problems on a diesel engine, especially in cold weather.
Cooling fan constantly running
This is a very common complaint in the 2004 Outlander that is often related to a single known issue that is related to a faulty design engine cooling fan controller (like a solid state relay), it keeps the fan on all the time. the fan controller as I said was recalled by the factory.
Have your dealer run the VIN of your car, more than likely it is covered under warranty.
I need a picture
This is very simple ... go to the auto parts place and tell them you need a fuse for (what ever). They will show you the fuse and possibly change it for you in the process showing you where the fuse box is located and how to chang it.
While you are there, get a fuse assortment and keep in your glove compartment for future use.
Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com
How do you fix the
check the fuse.. it will be labeled cig lighter or something close to that on the fuse box panel.. if the fuse is ok theres most likely a problem in the wiring somewhere
IF THE BELT BREAKS DOES IT MEAN THAT VALVES ARE
If the motor was running, there is EVERY chance that some of the valves will be bent.Belt breaks, camshaft doesn't move valves, and the one's that are open, get hit by the piston.May also be piston damage.Sorry to have to tell you this.I can do a fair bit of damage
Our 2004 Mitsubishi Triton is stuck in 3rd gear
Disconnect the battery terminals for a minuite to reset the computers
reconnect battery terminals and then see,If still the same problem. Then its faulty.TCU/TCM(transmission control unit) causing this problem. The TCM/TCU has to be inspected and replaced.
For getting TCU/TCNM scanned:---
The tcu diagnostic plug is near the fuse box on the drivers side .you can get the TCM scanned at local car garages, who has diagnostic scanner. Also you can get it scanned at autozone service center.---------
This will help.Keep updated thanks.Helpmech.
