Are you sure it is the transmission - what if the differential was locked. Drag it to a mechanic and have them go through the drive train.

Did you buy a used transmission? Mitsubishi transmissions will do that for two reasons that I know of. 1 If you overheat your transmission it will flash between drive and neutral to let you now to stop ans let the transmission cool down. 2 If you do not put Mitsubishi ATF in and put Dextron ATF in the car will feel like someone is tethered behind you thus overheating the transmission. Lots of possible answers to this but it all falls down to this basic rule with witch to always check these problems. You need three things for a motor to run. Fuel, air, and fire find the one it's not getting and you'll know what's wrong. Hope this helps Chris
