2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Questions & Answers
Low oil pressure on 2006 chevy monte carlo.
Hi,
you do not state the figures for the low oil pressure. There are various reasons for low oil pressure in an engine.
One fact is correct, if you continue to use the vehicle with low oil pressure being developed, you will be looking at an engine replacement or full repair in the very near future.
Good luck.
Why will the keys not come out of ignition, will not come out of park?
1) No start after disconnecting battery could be the Security system going into tamper mode. Perform the reset procedure. key to start, wait, etc. There are videos. This might fix it all. If you still have trouble with the key being stuck (another flag for the tamper lockout theory.) replace the lock cylinder and key. Remember to reset procedure.
2) trans shifter has a lockout solenoid that is controlled by a switch at the brake pedal. Could be tamper lockout. Taken with the brake lights and windows and locks I would then look for a common 12V source, ie fuse, relay, fusible link. Fix one might fix them all. The brake lights and the shifter lockout for example converge at the brake pedal switches. Not likely the brake bulbs coincidentally burned out, but possible. The Electronic troubleshooting manual used to be called EVTM Electric and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual for your model is the best resource for finding wiring diagrams and locations of fuses, relays, connectors.
2006 Monte Carlo Air Compressor Clutch
It is a nut, but you will need special tools to replace the clutch, You should just replace the compressor. you will need special equipment to evacuate and recharge the system.
How will the camshaft actuator magnet fix code p0011
The cam magnet is not really the problem, but the camshaft position sensor. This is what times your camshaft. It functions from a magnet. The replacement should come with everything you need . You may want to go ahead and replace your crankshaft position sensor
too.
Where are the fuses for the power dock locks on a 2006 montecarlo06ss
DR/LCK fuse 25 amp . located in the I/P block
Fuse Block - I/P
In the right front kick panel
Power Door Locks System Components
The power lock system consists of the following components:
• Body control module (BCM)
• Driver door lock cylinder switch
• Front passenger door lock cylinder switch
• Driver door lock switch
• Front passenger door lock switch
• Door lock actuators in each of the doors
• DR LK Fuse 20-amp
Door Lock System Controls
The Power Door Lock System is controlled by the body control module (BCM) and can be activated by any one of the following:
• A door lock switch lock or unlock actuation
• A door lock cylinder switch unlock actuation
• A keyless entry transmitter actuation
• An automatic door lock actuation (Personalization function)
• An automatic door unlock actuation (Personalization function)
Door Lock Operation
When the body control module (BCM) detects a transition of either of the door lock switches to the lock position, it switches the door lock actuator lock control circuit to voltage. Since the lock actuator unlock control circuits are at ground potential within the BCM, the door lock actuator motors transition to the lock position.
Driver Door Unlock Operation
When the body control module (BCM) detects a transition of either of the door lock switches to the unlock position, it switches the driver door lock actuator unlock control circuit to voltage. Since the door lock actuator lock control circuit is at ground potential within the BCM, the left front (LF) door lock actuator motor transitions to the Unlock position.
The driver door lock actuator unlock control circuit is a dedicated control circuit used only for the driver door lock actuator motor. This is done so that the driver door may be unlocked by itself using a keyless entry transmitter or an automatic door unlock function (if programmed).
Passenger Door Unlock Operation
When the body control module (BCM) detects a transition of either of the door lock switches to the unlock position, it switches the door lock actuator unlock control circuits to voltage. Since the door lock actuator lock control circuit is at ground potential within the BCM, the passenger door lock actuator motors transition to the unlock position.
The door lock actuator unlock control circuits are dedicated control circuits used only for the passenger door lock actuator motors. This is done so that the driver door may be unlocked separate from the passenger doors using a keyless entry transmitter or an automatic door unlock function (if programmed).
My 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo has been making a noise
It certainly sounds as though the brake fluid had been contaminated with some form of oil, probably mineral oil.
It is potentially a seriously big and expensive job to sort out as it is possible the oil has found it's way into the brake system threatening every rubber component including the hoses.
Ideally every rubber component should be replaced for the sake of long-term safety and reliability and all the pipework flushed. It would be considerably cheaper to obtain service kits for the master cylinder, calipers, etc. but there would be a great deal more work involved.
If I was faced with the problem I would replace the master cylinder or fit a service kit and then after draining the system and purging it with compressed air I would check each caliper for normal operation. If one seemed stiff or tight I would dismantle it for inspection and if there is indication of contamination the seals and the flexible hose to that wheel should be replaced.
