Changing battery 2006 avalanche
Not that simple. There is a hard to see bracket down at the bottom of the battery. It is usually a 13mm or 15mm bolt holding a piece of plastic that holds the battery in place. Other than that its pretty straight forward. Always remove the black cable first and replace it last.

Hello
Based on the OBD2 fault codes you have this is either a faulty ground to the transmission shift solenoid pack due to a defect in the wiring harness or you have a defective PCM/TCM (Powertrain Control Module). At this point the wiring harness needs to be hooked up to a breakout box and each one of the circuits looked at to see if the signal to shift is being sent by the PCM/TCM. There is no one answer to a problem like this. I would suggest a good Transmission shop with the proper equipment or your local GM dealer. If you plan to try and manual test each circuit then you will need to buy a factory service manual set with full detailed wiring diagrams, these manuals are copyrighted and not free to share or download. You can purchase a year to the rights to download the factory manuals from this site
www.alldatadiy.com all factory service manuals and factory bulletins are available to download. The cost of the service is about $40.00 for a one year subscription. I have no affiliation with this site it is just a recommendation to help you find the problem.
