How often should synthetic blend oil be changed
With synthetic oils it is best to read the ,actual, oil manufacturer recommendations for each brand of oil. Some claim that oil should be changed 5,000 , others at 7,000 and some even boast 10,000 mile oil change intervals. There are many factors that you should consider when changing to or changing any oil. The climate you live in , for instance . Do you live in a climate where it is hot all of the time. Driving conditions ; Do you drive most of the time where there is a lot of dust or sand etc.....The other advice that I find always to be good is to call the service department of the make of your vehicle and ask them what the factory recommendations are. That will ensure that you don't void any warranty that may be available for your vehicle. I live in the North East U.S. I change my oil in my NON-Synthetic vehicles at 3000 mile intervals and do it as "religiously" as possible...And I ALWAYS change the oil filter every time I change my oil. For the other vehicle that I own I use synthetic and change that at 5000 wether recommended or not. And I ALWAYS change the filter. Remember-The cleaner your oil is the less wear on vital engine components.......Hope this helps!
Code po 446
I would check to be sure gas cap is on properly. That code indicatets something amiss in the emissions vent sys.
Driver seat stuck
Look under the seat for anything that may be jamming the seat track.
Ck engine light stay on
I battled this on my 1999 Buick Century with 3.1 liter engine...
After replacing the Crank Sensor (located under the harmonic balancer if anyone needs to know) that was not the problem.
Replaced coil packs and Ignition Control Module...again NOT the problem.
I replaced the Oxygen Sensors...NOT the problem.
I replaced intake gaskets, NOT the problem BUT highly recommended (because they are made of recycled plastic with a rubber seal strip, and yes they WILL crack and ruin an engine...look for any signs of coolant seepage around theis are...FYI)
The problem was the EGR valve, but also know, that if the EGR is the problem, you will need to clean out the "port" leading back under the fuel plantum with a very stiff piece of heavy guage steel wire.
Hope this helps and best of luck !
My mother in laws 2002 century blower only works on high..
It is not the blower motor. On the 2002 model, I am showing an HVAC control module and a blower control processor. The control module handles the temp control and blower speed, and the processor contains the resistor for slower blower speeds. Which component did you replace ?
Starting problems
if your battery and alternator are functioning ( you have lights/power) then it is likely your ignition switch has gone bad.
Do you have a heavy keychain?
Try to jiggle the switch at the column
I have a 2002 Buick century and it turns over but
Broken timing belt would be where I would start.
To check the belt, open the oil fill, using a flashlight look into it while someone is cranking the engine, if nothing is moving in there while the motor is turning over, the belt is snapped.
My 2002 buick century overheats and has no heat
Possible trapped in system. Bleed system, should have two small screw bleeders, one in front of left valve cover on pipe behind water pump and the other on coolant pipe outlet as you follow upper rad. hose towards engine. Engine cool, remove rad cap, open both bleed screws and fill rad until coolant flows free out both bleed ports. close both bleed screws, rad cap off, start engine and let idle until upper hose is hot to touch , shut off, let it cool down for 20 minutes, top up rad and install cap. restart car ,drive and check.
