Why wony ignition switch make contact when turned on ?

check for power at the starter on the small wire when someone is trying to start it. if you have power there and you have power on the large wire at the starter then with someone turning the key tap the starter with a hammer if it turns over then you need a starter. if not and the voltage is good then the starter solenoid needs replacing.

1997 olds LSS cooling fan will not come on when hot

Not really a solution but I suggest you take it to have a code diagnostic done. If anything comes up, ask for a coy of the code description. I had the same problem with my Subaru. It ended up being the engine control module which was sending too much juice to the cooling system. Had to replace one or both fans (can't remember). I do remember it cost $1000 and hat was before I had the ECM replaced. Good luck.

you could check the throttle valve for being dirty.the valve is in the intake manifold where the air snorkel connects to it.where the throttle cable hooks up to the shaft this is part of the the valve,if you look inside the intake while moving the throttle you will see the valve move.this is the part that needs cleaning both front and back side and the area of the intake were it rests when closed.

Sorry, but you have to drop the tank. The sending unit and pump are all one assembly in that vehicle. It is possble to drain the tank by removing the filler vent hose and using one of those kerosene siphon pumps or even a drill pump to pump out as much gas as possible before trying to drop the tank.

The leak is probably at the intake fresh air vents under the windshield wipers. The only other thing is the windshield seal and that would not make such a mess. You can remove the mesh and clean out the pocket. Then you might be able to seal it with some silicone. I hope this helps you.

You will first have to remove the plastic valance from under the wiper blade arms. You may have to remove the arms first. then reach inside and "pop" the ball joints back together
