Ran out of gas. Car only runs for a couple
Yes. There is a good chance that you picked some dirt or sludge off the bottom of your tank when you ran out. This can plug your fuel pump screen, located on the fuel pump inlet, or your fuel filter. Check your fuel pressure at the engine with a fuel pressure gauge. There is a port on the fuel line in the engine compartment. It will look like an oversized tire stem.
96 mit. eclipse 2.0 420a w/auto. Stalls at idle
I have a 95 Talon with the same motor but manual. My car was doing the same thing and I narrowed it down to the ECU cutting power to the ASD. So basically it was being told to do this. The only things that I know that cause this is the CAS, CPS. Get a multimeter and test the middle prong of the coil connector with key to ON. Should be 12v. When it stalls does it not start up for a few minutes? When it wont immediately restart check the coil power again and if 0 with key to ON then your ECU is cutting off or ASD is going bad. Either ADS or the problem was your crankshaft position sensor is bad most likely. Will appear as though ECu is going out.
I have to change my ignition my key is broke in
there are several lock cylinder removal videos over on youtube. can not say i have seen a mistsubishi done, but you could learn something valuable just by watching the removal on other cars. go to youtube and search for "lock cylinder mitsubishi". no doubt all models are either the same or very close in that area.
My car makes a rattling sound when i acclerate
Lucas is a product which will thicken the oil and add conditioners.
I would just use regular oil, though, as recommended by the manufacturer.
The rattling noise could be a camshaft bearing that is spun, or some half shell bearing inside the engine.
It could just as easily be a part of your exhaust coming loose.
Without being there to see and hear it, I cannot tell you what it is, exactly.
But, at least you have an understanding of what you're up against.
good luck to you.

I managed to crack my auto trans case!! is it
There is too much work involved in transferring the internals of your transmission to a new case and would cost too much. Most anybody will tell you to buy a rebuilt transmission and turn yours in as a core. My guess is it will be $1300 to $1800 depending on what is involved in the job.*** Please rate me on this answer.***
Irregular idle and engine dies
It sounds as if two things might be going on (1) your throttle body may require a good cleaning (look for specific product at atuo parts store and follw directions) last the idle control switch may be failing. This is found within the throttle body (to remove you'll need to remove cold air in-let, two srcews and unplug from wiring harness. (while removed use a cleaner where the idle control went and get the carbon out of there)
I hope this may have helped,
Tom
