Hi,well the way you are saying about timing what size engine is it? if its a 2.8 they run on a timing chain which requires no attention,if its a 2.5 then we are talking about changing a timing belt and kit.please could you give me more information on this.

If you are trying to reset maintenance light, the switch is behind the instrument panel, if you want to reset computer, just leave battery disconnected for about 10 minutes with the key turned to the on position

I had the same problem after replacing the battery on my Montero. I bought mine used but luckly the pervious owner had written the 4 digit number down in the owners manual. After finding the number, I had to enter it into the radio by using the station preset buttons. If you can't find or don't have it in the owners manual. You will have to get the model and serial numbers off the radio and contact Mitsubishi or another source to obtain the correct code to reset the radio.

Pull the distick and smell the oil. If it's discoloured (black or dark brown) you know the transmission friction plates are burnt and needs a rebuilt.

Observe the way the fuse burns out. If the element is just melted in one area, then it's an overload (too much current). If the element is completely vaporized (sometimes showing as a dark or black) it's a short circuit. If short circuit, it may require checking entire wire harness. If overload, check the headlight bulb or circuitry if HID (blue) type. Good Luck

they are pressed in from the back so to remove studs ( best to remove the hub so the bearings are not damaged ) use a hammer and punch to knock the busted back out then hammer in the new studs

PLEASE, buy a cheap shop manual to insure you get this right.

check the selector is adjusted and tight as you may be selecting the last of the gears as it moves . When stopped -place it in park and check where the selector is underneath

bad starter or starter connection , check connection on starter

Wrong spark plugs? Make sure you use iridium plugs by NGK or Denso. NGK V-Power Plugs BKR5E-11 Carbon Buildup? Get some Techron and run several tanks Wrong Octane? Your engine should use regular gas. But you might be getting some low grade gas. You can try using a higher octane fuel. Or try adding a octane booster.

Sir if the starter is not even turning im sorry to inform your engine might be broken. Lack of oil could be the reason. I d reccomend to send to a mechanic shop inmediately.
