That sounds like a typical problem. The blower motor resistor would be at fault. It is behind an electrical plug on the blower case. You will see an electrical connector, and 2 screws near the connector. remove the screws and there will be the resistor. replace it.

It is entirely possible for the break light to be on because the ABS light is on. The first step would be to see if there are any ABS codes. This can be done with a multi-function scan tool capable of reading ABS data/codes. An OBDII type code reader will not work for this.

First check your fuses. It should have one for your fuel pump. Most cases either the fuses are bad or the ground on the fuel pump is bad. If that is not the problem your fuel pump would have gone out. This is caused from old age or premature wear on it from driving around on empty all the time.

I had the same problem with my Lincoln. If the heater valve fails open, it tries to heat the car. This is not the fault of the A/C. To test, when the van engine is cold, start the van and the A/C immediately. If the A/C air is cold, then your temperature control valve is stuck in the open position.
Replace it.
