I recently did a diagnostic test for my V8 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0 and as a result received the following codes, P1372, P0385, P0386, & P0335. I would like to first of all ask would any of these codes cause the car to shut off and stall to start. Do you know if it is possible to fix the problem yourself or would you suggest taking the vehicle to a mechanic.
Call autozone and ask them to define the codes for ya then get with your mechanic and get em fixed.

how to bypass security system in 2001 aurora
This is a very common problem on GM vehicles. The security system is known to fail. Basically when you insert your key, the system checks for certain OHMS resistance. If the system cannot get the correct signal from the key, it assumes the key is incorrect and goes into SECURITY lockout mode. (prevents hotwiring) This has been happening with GM;s for a very long time. There are ways to bypass this now. Read through this page for info, solutions as well.

rear window slipped of track, need to remove door panel to attempt repair. How to remove and reinstall inner door panel.
The inner door panel is held in by clips and screw.
Look at the door near the door handle there should be screws holding it in and along the outer edge of the door. Once loose, and the door handle removed or the arm rest removed. The door panel then prys out , because of the clips that hold it on. Then pops out by applying pressure to the panel upward to the top of the door. The clips always break because of the design and plastic.
Good luck

My trunk was full of water in the area where the spare tire is kept. The dealer said it was due to the recessed area around the license plate not being sealed properly. I consider this to be a design flaw on the part of GM. I had to pay $248.00 to have this sealed by the dealer. If they can seal around doors and windows why can't they properly seal areas in the trunk? (Many people do not check the spare tire compartment unless they have a flat.)
U need to carefully check the seams of the sheetmetal for any sign of water or dirt from the road, there is no common leak on these cars, in fact they seldom leak anywhere, the water is most likely splash up from the road, unless u left something out like it was sitting when this water accumulated. Let me know that info.
