How do I reset the oil service meter on a 2005 bmw x3
On the instrument cluster in the center there are two buttons (clock and s/r) .Press and hold the s/r (i think thats whats on the button) and turn the key to the first position. at first it will say TEST in the cluster. keep holding the s/r button and it will flash to your SIA (service meter) release the button and press and hold until it says reset (or reset flashes) and then press again. just play with it im going off of memory. just dont be afraid. as usual im sure your local bmw dealership would be glad to help

325ci engine stalls
It may be worth checking the throttle pot for consistancy in its resistance reading from idle to full throttle. Ive had one of these fail with a dead spot just off idle. This caused the ecu to loose coms for a short while and stalled the car. Also the idle stab gets confused when this happens. This was on a 320 though but might be worth a look. Do the test with the plug disconnected and the engine & ignition off.
