Heater fan not working, dimister,

Recommend replacing the fuse (Blower motor resistor) anyway - It's quite common for these to go bad on 5 series Bimmer's, which of course leads to dead batteries.

X5 trans on

Before you start looking at the transmission, make sure that your battery is in good shape and the battery terminals are making clean connections. The transmission computer is quite sensitive to voltage variations.
If the problem is in the transmission, the most common failure point that I have read about is the temperature sensor. They sometimes fail after a few years. The sensor is not expensive, and not too difficult to replace, and it was time to change your transmission fluid and filter anyway, right?

EMISSIONS INSPECTION FAILED

This just means that the OBD was reset recently and the car hasnt been driven enough for readings to be given by the OBDII. Just drive the car a while, and then all should be READY. After any OBDII reset, the car must go through a certain number of "Drive Cycles" before the OBDII will emit any readings. Refer to the manufacturer to find out exactly how many, and how to complete them.

I need to now ware area of engine is crankshaft

Hi rafymoctezum,

The crankshaft sensor for your car is located near the starter. The best way to see it is to remove the driver's side microfilter housing and connected air tube. If you are looking at the starter, the crankshaft sensor is located to the right and is held in place with a 5mm allen bolt.

Window on driver side is off track..how do i fix

There is an air bag in the door and it can hurt you.
Disconnect the battery for a while (no one seems to know how long, but several minutes at least) before disconnecting the air bag.
Don't connect the battery and turn on the key to check your repair while the air bag is unplugged or it will set an error code and you will have to take it to a shop to have the SRS system reset so the SRS light will go out.
I expect that the problem is not that the window is not off the track, but rather that the regulator is broken.
I am not familiar with the 5 series, but the window regulator picture in the parts book looks similar but not quite the same as the one used in the 3-series. In the 3 series, the regulator is not difficult to replace, but it is much easier and cheaper to fix the broken one with a couple of zip ties. I fixed the driver side window regulator in my wife's '04 330 with zip ties years ago and it still works fine. I would pull off the door panel and look at it to see if it is fixable in place before ordering a new regulator ($150 on line)

2001 e39 windshield washer pump

Hi dtkorakbiak,

You will need to remove the passenger microfilter cover under the hood. First remove the filter cover. Then release the tabs holding the delivery tube to the filter housing. The housing lifts up and rotates out out to the side. Under the housing you will find a white plastic cover being held in place with 4 allen bolts. Using a 5mm allen remove the bolts. Once removed, under the cover you will see several control units and fuses and relays. Look for the BROWN relay. That relay is for your wiper/washer system. They do fail after a while. When reassembling the cover. make sure it is seated correctly, if not water can enter the electronics and create problems down the road.

How do i clean out

This is a guess, as I am not familiar with this particular body, but try pulling up the door sills and pulling the carpet away from the side wall. Are there plastic plugs there? If so, remove the plugs and rig a hose to your vacuum cleaner that will fit through the holes.

1997 525tds dead bettery.cant open boot

There should be a positive connection under the hood that is normally used for jump starting the car. Use jumper cables to power that connection and an engine ground from another car. That will power the car's electronics so you can open the trunk (boot) and replace the battery.
