the fan on-off temp can be adjusted via hand held programmer. The only time I have herd mine run is with the a/c on. when a/c is not on i put a lower set point in and the engine fan/s came on.

shaker 500 stereo

HOW CAN I TAKE OUT MY STEREO FROM MY 2005 MUSTANG, A CD GOT STUCK IN IT... My Shaker 500 ate all my CD's and I get a message saying CD error when I try to eject. I took it in to Ford and they said it needed a new head unit $400. I purchased a unit that had been pulled from a new car for upgrade and now the dealership says that the brackets don't line up and the plugs in my car ('05) are male where the new unit is female. Is there a way to adapt the new unit to my car? Melinda

The gear indicator light came unattached. You can no longer tell what gear your in. Is this a do-it-yourself type repair.

The solution is that you must purchase the complete shift housing because it is all one piece and you can't just replace part of it.The dealer told me this is about $250.00 U.S. and it can be replaced by an intermediate skilled tinkerer. For right now I just live with the inconvenience as I can pretty much guess what gear Im in.

this is the check engine light, it is on to alert you to the fact that a fault has occurred in the engine electronic controls or the emission system, there are over 200 such poss faults, any time the check eng light is on a fault code is stored in the computers memory, have the system tested for that code and post it back here, many autozones do this for free, ask for an OBD 2 code test.

If you can solder or know someone who can this is an easy fix. 1st the problem...The Mustang gauges are small DC motors, the motors are going bad. I just completed this on my wifes 2005 Mustang. Go to Ebay and do a search for Mustang stepper motors. They will run you about $8 each. do them all while the cluster is out.I used David Ruberg (www.speedometerrepairguy.com). Pull of the housing around the inst. cluster, take 4 screws out that hold the cluster in place. pop off the connector, take it into the house and solder in the motors. David includes instructions with the order. It took me about 2 hours total.

A wrench symbol came on in my 2005 Ford Mustang

A wrench symbol came on in my 2005 Ford Mustang what could this mean

Answer

The wrench light is NOT the check engine light! It is a failsafe warning light and usually when it comes on there is a problem with the "fly by wire" throttle. The wrench light will not be caused by leaving the gas cap loose. You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnecting. If this is no help you have no other choice but to take it in for service.

I am a fellow Mustang owner, 2008 Bullitt Mustang.

Good Luck

HI. The code and its respective definition will be located below:

P0108 --- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High

Here are a few possible causes for the high signal transfer of the circuit:

  • Leaking EGR valve
  • Vacuum leaks
  • Dirty fuel injectors
  • Wrong fuel pressure
  • Low engine compression
  • Ignition miss
  • Carbon deposits on the intake valves
  • Valve problems
Check the engine for the above faults. If all the points above check out Ok; Replace the MAP sensor.
