Leak on steering fluid canister
If you are saying it is coming out the top of the reservoir, the problem is that there is air in the power steering system. When you run the engine the fluid gets pumped into the rack where any movement tries to turn it to foam, forcing the fluid out of the reservoir. It also makes noise.
Power steering systems are often hard to burp. The basic process is to put the front of the car on jack stands so the front wheels are off the ground and let the engine idle as you turn the steering wheel all the way left and right a few dozen times. The fluid level has to be kept high enough to prevent more air from being drawn in.
Possible shock?
Yes! if you have struts the shock mounts cound be shot,Also check to see your exhaust isn't missing any hangers, that makes noise too, when the pipe clunks against the frame.Good Luck !
Aztec bcm
The truck will not start if the BCM is repalced but not programmed. The theft system will prevent it for several reasons.

Is the driver's window in a 2002 interchangeable with a 2001?
That's a hard question. But you should be able to find out by asking at the Parts Department of a GM dealership. All the person has to do is see if both windows have the same part number. A salvage yard could do the same by checking their interchange database.
What could be causing it not to turn on when the Aztek is hot?
Since you pulled the sensor and the fans come on, things are working right. I suspect that "Hot" is normal temperature, about middle of the gauge. I would replace the ignition module under the coil packs. Best bet is get on at a salvage yard. Get one off any 3.1 or 3.4 engine. They are in Grand Ams, cavaliers, Rendezvous, Aztecs, some Grand Prixs, And many more GM cars. rare occasions that the crank senor heats up and dies. Usually they work or don't.
I have problem with 2001
Sounds like it is getting a faulty lock/unlock command from a defective door locking solenoid. Normally its the drivers side locking motor.
Hope this helped.
