Good question, the answer is "yes", "no", and "maybe". GM shares a lot of parts internationaly with Opel, Saturn, GM, Chevy, Pontiac, etc. Especialy engine parts. Chassis and body is a different story. You may find tie rods, struts, etc the same, but a headlight won't fit from one to the other. If you've got a 2004 Saturn Ion, you likely have a 2.2 EcoTec. Pretty much all EcoTec parts will fit in one form or another, from one to another. Alternators, starters, etc. You may need to swap plug locations or types, but the actual hard part should "fit". You would need to go dumpster diving to compare or contrast. I guess it all depends on what you need? the Stick

the gas smell is from all the gas into the clylinders when it dont start,,,normal,,,,,,the no start issue is from the electrical ignition switch goes bad when it gets cold out and doesnt let the car start,,you need a new ignition switch like $40 and reprogram it to the car,i would take it to the dealer,asap because right now you are lucky that it does eventually start,one day it will not start at all so get this fixed before you get stuck

Put the key into the keyhole and turn it counter clockwise. Now, if you want to lock all doors without using the key or the remote key fob, you can press the lock button your door. The car will chime a few times, then shut your door. About 5 seconds later, all doors will lock. Neat, huh?

In the top of the valve cover, top of engine. Look where the wire end at on top of engine. Be sure to use anti-seize when replacing, if not the plug can seize in the head and that would be a world of mess. It don't take much. Buy the small packet at your local store for $1.09+.

there is a fuse for power sterring in car. its under the hood in the fuse block on the drivers side, its a mini fuse or a j-case fuse, it can be possible you blow it when jump starting??

if the fuse is proper then THE BELT COULD HAVE BEEN WET OR OILY . CHECK THIS OUT BY SRAYING WATER ON IT WHILE SOMEONE TRYS TO STEER . CHECK FOR GLAZING,CRACKS AND TENSION. If this fails and does not helps and the problem persists, you could have a pump problem. Possibilities are that the relief valve stick intermittently in the open position, a very worn cam and rotor assembly or a broken shaft.
Make sure the power steering fluid level is up to par and the belt is in good working condition.
Also make sure the belt is tight---some are adjustable others have spring loaded tensioners that can become seized on the pivot point ---oil soaked belts don't work well---and if you don't have success with these tips change the fluid to automatic tranmmission fluid ( Dexron Mercon) which will work fine and is cheaper anyway .

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere.
Could either be on one of the fuel lines / unions or on the tank.
The fact that you had just filled it up makes me think that it is probably on the tank or filler line.
Have a good look around in these areas to see if you can locate where it is coming from and take it from there.

Best to rent a scanner and check for other problems. If ok, the scanner will clear the light. If you bought a vented cap, the trouble will remain until a sealed cap is installed.

One of the door triggers or trunk or hood could be falsing. Do you know how to reset your alarm?

well with a check engine light on you really should have it brought somewhere to read the codes stored in your computer it dont make sense to guess at what the code or problem is,since there are several,several codes.it may be a 02 sensor,a evap code,i think a few of the auto parts places have code readers and read for free.

there are two rear exterior door panels for an 06 ION on ebay, possibly is same part, needing only paint to match yours. also look around in the craiglist for your area.

yes this happens from time to time,take it to the dealer,they are a pain the in,,,,,to open even for us techs who have done it before,youre gonna need a new door latch assembly,so make sure they have it in stock cuz once they get that door open there is no way to close it till that part is replaced

on a lot of cars, yes the OBD2 plug is powered by the same fuse as the lighter.

This light means your airbag will probably not deploy in an accident. It would be a concern for me.

Look on Craigslist for your area or on ebay motors. On a car this new could be hard to find. You can also try local junk yards. I would call around to some local body shops and ask them to check their sources for used late model parts with the understanding that if they find one you will pay for it and pay them to install and paint it the correct color.

most likely a door pin switch or trunk switch malfunction or switch adjustment.hope this helps

check for lose connections ,bad earths and things left on

The cigarette lighter fuse is a ten amp fuse behind the interior fuse panel down by the kick panel. Its in the bottom of the center console. Schematic for fuses on back of kick panel.

Sounds like it could be the throught out bearing, witch could be a problem if let to go on to long and tie up and grind up the pressure plate fingers, i am not real familer with this type of car and don't know if it can be greased or not, but it would be worth investagating.

There is an issue with the engine management in your saturn. If there is an Auto Zone around your area, have them scan the car for a DTC code which would indicate the issue. Auto Zone scan free of charge and can give you the step by step instruction to getting the job done to replace any faulty parts. Note: if the code comes back and a faulty gas cap, buy the OEM from the dealer. All others will fail with in one year. In the mean time open your gas cap and re tighten it and listen for at least three clicks when tightened. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted be glad to help.
