A sightly open door switch could trip the alarm system into thinking the vehicle is being stolen. Is the battery on the Jeep fully charged? If the key has a battery in it or it has a separate alarm key fob check the battery in that as well. Are there any 'new' warning lights on the Dash display? These can give clues to where the issue could be. How are you turning the alarm off when this does happen? If these check don't solve the issue there could be an actual fault with the alarm system itself. Remember this is a 24 year old Jeep and Alarm systems do get old and develop faults.
