If u cant comunicate with engine ecu diagnostically id assume that is the problem . first i check everything is connected as you have been working on the engine check any earths that may have been disterbed or left off then go through all the fuses in the car .

There may be another fuse I had a Ford Taurus and had a hard time finding the other fuse it had two. it was not marked. I would check them all, maybe under the hood as well. Not 100% sure you have two but if you have not checked all the fuses it may be worth a shot before you start tracing wires. Good luck.

Did you check for power in the relay socket?

Sometimes the door itself goes bad where the actuator shaft connects to it.

You are pretty good at this! Replace the belt, but don't buy a cheap one. The belt slips, then gets hot and sticky, noise goes away. Sort of like dragsters making their tires stick to the track, only a lot smaller. You get a point for your diagnosis.

You need a good battery. It should read 12.6v while not running and 13.5v + while running. Sounds like a bad cell. Not curable.

All of the plastic simply pulls apart, but be careful to pull straight out. The plastic attaching pieces could be brittle. BTW, the whole interior trim disassembles in this manner. Take your time.

The switch is a common problem and replacement is easy. The harness, improbable. You answered your question about the fuse when you said the it works in one direction. BTW, the switch is not expensive.

This might be the canister purge valvery connector do you have a check engine light on if so read the codes set at zone or any parts place will scan it for free then take it from there also did it used to have air springs

Based on description... Rebuild or replace transmission. A filter change may postpone demise but it sure sounds like classic tranny old age.

Take it to any good parts store and have charging system tested and battery load tested. At battery voltage (while running) should be 13.1v- 14.4 v anything lower then your "new" alternator is bad.
