Check the fan clutch and see if its engaging ! Start the motor and let run a few minutes and turn vehicle off while observing the fan blades if it free wheels when the motor is turned off then its bad ! Also take the radiator cap off with it cold and full of fluid and start the car - does coolant imediately shoot out if so the head gaskets are blown !
What does the spanner symbol on dash board
It means you're "due" for an oil change. Your vehicle has a manual reset mileage counter that a technician usually resets after doing an oil change. That doesn't mean s/he actually did reset your oil life.
Why does gas cap light come on?
You need to check the seal on gas cap. If its bad then get a new cap or replace seal. Gas cap may also have a hairline crack. Lasty rotate cap back n forth to reset seal as a starter. Simple fix
2003 XLT. How do I bypass a/c compressor?
if you mean by belt. you can get a shorter belt and install it. it may take some trial and error to get a proper fitting belt. try the auto parts store to see if they list one without A/C.
2003. Why won't it start?
CHECK THAT YOU HAVE FUEL GOING TO THE PLUGS AND THAT THERE IS A SPARK. tHE FUEL AND THE SPARK MUST COINCIDE. tHE FAILURE TO START USUALLY MEANS THAT THEY DO NOT. tHEN, ONE MUST FIND OUT THE CAUSE, . Moving backwards in the combustion proces , to the supply processes that provide the fuel and spark is the mission.
Check the plug has a spark, if it does not check at the distributor cap that power is getting to it. If there is none check the coil(s). You can go through the system, including any sensors , right back to the battery, until you find the link that is broken, i.e. is not transmitting power.
You do the same with the fuel system. Ceck there is gas/petrol in the combustion chamber. If there is not check the fuel lines, that the fuel filter is not clogged. gO BACK TO THE PUMP AND, IF NECESSARY TO THE TANK.
yOU MAY NEED THE SERVICES OF A COMPETENT TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE THIS

2001. Where is ABS system power control relay located?
Ford is fond of placing the power control relay in the under hood fusebox, but there may be a larger problem with the ABS control module which is located on the inside of the driver side frame rail - usually just behind the driver seat. There are some models that have the relay mounted next to the control module.
Hope this helped!!
