Where where to locate the headlight motor on a 1988 Chrysler LeBaron convertible

I don't understand how a headlight motor can keep a car from starting unless a short circuit has blown the fusible link to the ignition switch. Usually the headlight fuse would go first unless somebody tried bypassing the blown fuse with a wire (always a terrible idea). Headlight motors are probably on the front of the radiator mounting panel, right next to each headlight.

Fuel system diagram

Check if you have power to the pump when the engine is cranking over. You will need a helper to do this. If there is no power with engine cranking, the pump circuit is failing-maybe bad pump relay or no signal to relay from the engine computer. But if there is power to pump with engine cranking, but pump is not coming on, you need to replace the pump.

1987 Chrysler Lebaron - 130,000

Maybe one of the door switches, are worn or broken, worn ones can sometimes be adjusted to make the stick out. Push the door switches in one at a time with just that door open, (it should be on the door jam), if it stops, you've found the problem switch. Since the driver's door get much more use than any of the others, I'd start there.

Why is my sepentine belt shredding

Hi, It is assumed you are using the correct belt for your vehicle? Better still, are you using an OEM belt or other quality belt like Gates, Dayco or Continental? Are all your varoius pullies in good condtion and rotate freely without any excess play in the bearings, Does your alternator have an auto run-on pully? This maybe defective causing belt flutter and rapid wear (im assuming your belt drives the alternator as you have not stated your vehicle type)

Could a burnt out running light or tail light bulb cause the tail lamp fuse to blw when the headlights are turned on in a 1992 lebaron. Changed the headlight switch already.

Sure. It should also blow when the switch is on Park too. The park circuit is hot in both park and headlight position.

All of a sudden the car will not start. It turns over but it won't actually start. There has been no problems this is out of the blue...what do I do?

the easiest place to start will be to check and see if you have you take starter fluid and spray it in to your intake if it starts your fuel pumps bad or it has a bad relay possibly even a short in the wire I know Chevys mainly the Blazer was bad for that if it still doesn't start full of one of your plug wires if you happen to have an extra spark plug stick it in the wire and lay on top of the engine where I can get a ground but do not hang on to it it would light you up

Automatic transmission not working at all

Check the oil level in the transmission to check for oil leaks . Run fault codes and look for a fault in the TCM unit or wires not connected properly. Have a pressure test done to check for internal problems.

I have a 1990 Chrysler Lebaron Convertable, 3.0l

Could be just a need to reset the "check engine light", normally this is accomplished when the battery is disconnected for 15 minutes...If your Lebaron is now running smoothly, have the alternator battery tested for free at most auto parts stores for peace of mind. Auto Zone can also read the check engine light code for free. Tight belt, good tensioner pulley, good alternator, you should be in business. Most likely no harm done when the arc occurred.

Bypassing ignition

You take the hot wire to the ignition switch and twist it together with the run wire out of the switch-then ignition is on, just as if the key were turned to on. Then take the start wire that goes out of the switch and touch it to the hot wire to make the starter work. Soon as engine is started, remove the start wire from hot wire and tuck it out of the way. When you want it off, untwist the hot wire and the run wire.If you cannot hot wire it like this, check if there is a security system that has immobilized the car. I don't know if a '92 had a security system.
