Your vehicle has - The camshaft position (CMP) actuator system is an electro-hydraulic operated device used for a variety of engine performance and operational enhancements. These enhancements include lower emission output through exhaust gas dilution of the intake charge in the combustion chamber, a broader engine torque range, and improved fuel economy. The CMP actuator system accomplishes this by changing the angle or timing of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft position. The CMP actuator simply allows earlier or later intake and exhaust valve opening during the four stroke engine cycle. The CMP actuator cannot vary the duration of valve opening, or the valve lift. That P0401 is a generic code , you need factory tool for factory enhanced DTC'S !

Check for power at the fan resistor wire to the resistor, if power. change the resistor block itself. it controls fan speeds. Most resistors are beside the blower fan, below glove box. You may have to remove a panel to get to the fan resistor. check all fuses first! Even under hood fuse box.

My guess would be the remote needs replacing. Malibu remotes do not have a very long life span. I've replaced many many many of them for one or two or all of the buttons not working.

The radio fuse is in the fuse compartment located on the passenger side of the console. Remove the cover on the console and then remove the fuse box cover, search out the radio fuse and inspect to see if it has blown.
