2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Questions & Answers
2006 chevy cobalt ls I have individual coils on s engine I swapped but my harness has a set up for a coil pack doing have to change engines?
You don't really need to swap the engine out. The coil pack is simply the electronics that controls when the spark plug fires. You could change the wiring set up to use a multi coil pack system but this could be very complicated and very expensive as you might need a specialist to do it for you.
You are probably better off converting the new engine to run on a single coil pack system. If you have swapped the old engine for another engine that is the SAME you might be able to transfer the parts off the old engine onto the newer one.
You would be safest asking a good mechanic near you if this is possible.
Need picture location of coolant bleeder valve for 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt LS with 2.2L engine
Doesn't have a bleeder valve .
Filling Procedure
Notice: The procedure below must be followed. Improper coolant level could result in a low or high coolant level condition, causing engine damage.
Close the radiator drain **** by hand.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Install the water pump drain plug (1) if removed during the draining process.
Tighten
Tighten the plug to 22 N·m (16 lb in).
Lower the vehicle.
Important: Use a 50/50 mixture of DEX-COOL antifreeze and clean, drinkable water. It is necessary to maintain the coolant level near the cold fill line on the surge tank to insure all the air has been purged from the cooling system.
Slowly add a mixture of 50/50 DEX-COOL antifreeze and deionized water to the cooling system until the coolant level reaches and maintains slightly above the cold fill line on the surge tank. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities.
Install surge tank cap.
Start the engine.
Run the engine at 2,000-2,500 RPM for 3 minutes.
Allow the engine to idle for 30 seconds.
Shut the engine off.
Top off the coolant as necessary.
Inspect the cooling system for leaks.
Rinse away any excess coolant from the engine and the engine compartment.
2006 cobalt.replaed starter relay fuse all lights come on dash ect. fuel going to fuel pump but wont crank over
Are you positive the battery is good? Did you try to jump it ? Make sure all cables are clean and tight. When you say "won't crank over" do you mean the engine doesn't turn at all? If not, I don't know why you think the fuel pump would be the culprit. If it cranks and doesn't start, I don't know why you replaced the starter.
Disconnecting the battery doesn't reset the light. You need a scan tool for that unless you get lucky and fix the problem and go through enough cycles for it to go out on it's own.
Take it to Autozone or Advance or somewhere and have them read the codes. They do it for free for you. (They are hoping you will buy parts there) They can reset the light as well.
2006 Chevy Cobalt LS rough idle
I would recommend cleaning the throttle body with carburetor cleaner, remove the air inlet to the throttle body and try cleaning. After cleaning will be hard to start but should solve your issue

sounds like the camshaft sensor or the crankshaft sensor, either way I think your car is being recalled for a faulty ignition switch which could turn off by itself.
