Does this vechicle have a cut off switch
Cut off for what the fuel pump?? If so the answer is not it doesn't and if it did it would only be triggered by a rear collision exceeding 3g's of force. Spray starting fluid into the air intake of engine, if it starts and dies you most likely have a fuel pressure problem, this could be the pump or in some cases the relay for the pump is the problem.
The emergency flashers won't turn off.
The problem, I suspect, will be with the switch unit for the Hazard lights which will need to be replaced.
In the meantime check your fuses. In some vehicles there is a fuse dedicated solely to the hazard light circuit so if you pull that fuse out the Hazard lights will not operate and nothing else will be affected. I cannot say if that is the configuration used in your car but a check of your owners manual , or if there is a fuse diagram on the inside of the fuse boxes on your car, you can identify which fuse is for which function or functions..

start with the common things. You will be surprised with how clogged air filters can alter the peformance of your vehicle. I would start by checking air filters. when was the last time you serviced your e36? you might also need to check fuel pump pressure.

Re: 2000 BMW
make sure all of your tires match (same brand and size) . Also if one tire is significantly more worn then the others, it can cause this as well. When you rotated and balanced your tires, did you replace just one? If so, and the others aren't close to new, it will cause this.
I've been having a reoccurring
Have you had the codes read? I would at this point suspect a faulty sensor which is breaking down when hot. Crank or cam sensor likely.
WONT DRIVE FORWARDS OR REVERSE.
if there is fluid under the vehicle, then likely you have punctured the transmission pan cover. without fluid present, the transmission will just slip out of gear.
if no fluid has dripped out of the pan, then you may have significantly altered the alignment of the drive-train to the point that parts are not lining-up anymore.
