the brake cable line is probably stuck inside it's outer tubing. You have to remove the cable and free it up or replace it with a new cable and housing...i suggest that you gse a water resistant grease on the inner cable before re-installing the cable..DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL YOU RELEASE THE BRAKE

Engine shifts but rpms stay high
Your car acts like it needs a transmission service. That's where you should start. GM cars can act like the trans is shot when all it needs is a new filter. I don't understand how the dealer could miss it, though. Get back to me and let me know.
How many tabs are there on Rear Defogger in 2011 Malibu?
I don't know what tabs your talking about? Does the rear window have a crack in it? Usually, you can use a digital multimeter to check continuity on the defogger grid. If you find a break, the auto store may have this paint, that you paint over the break to restore continuity. I did look at wiring diagram for that grid, purple wire is voltage, black wire is ground. There may be a rear defogger buss bar, where wiring connects. I don't know if you can access from trunk area? A lot of shops will charge a 100 bucks an hr. for labor and that doesn't include diagnostics.
I'm not going to argue with you or your shop. I can't see anything from here. Your shop could actually look at your vehicle, I can't.
Which fuse box on the 2011 Chevy Malibu is the fuse for the rear defrost
Fuse box rear , fuse #23 30 amp ! Do you know where this is located ? There is also a relay for the Rear window defogger , located in the same rear fuse box .
Fuse Block - Rear
Left side of the luggage compartment, behind the left rear wheel well . But you really need to know how it works , you can check fuse an relay .
Rear Window Defogger Operation
Battery positive voltage is supplied through the BATT 1 fuse in the underhood fuse block to the rear defog relay switched input. When the rear defog switch button is pressed, the body control module (BCM) energizes the rear defog relay by providing a B+ to the control circuit of the rear defog relay. This allows battery positive voltage from the relay switched input through the switch contacts and out the relay switched output to the rear window defogger grid. The HVAC control module houses the rear defog switch and also illuminates the rear defog indicator on the switch button, upon this request. Ground for the rear window defogger grid is provided by G301 for the Sedan or G302 For the Extended Sedan.
