Most parts stores have the adjusting screws and the plastic ends just pop into place. The springs can be more difficult, but I have used hardware store spring and modified one end. If your parts store can't help try Year One.

Check the plug at the fire wall. Corrosion . Most likely hard wire it. Eliminate the plug. Lucky for you, it has no computers on it. You will have to start with power and grounds to the turn signal an fuse panel. Work your way threw it. A wiring schematic wold help, but good luck on finding one for a 78.

In the ECM. Do you have the chip in the key?

In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your fuel injectors in the vehicle. As long as it is getting fire and fuel good then check the catalytic converter and muffler one may be plugged. The cat. is ahead of the muffler close to the engine if it is a Chevrolet. In addition, if the o2 sensor is in front of the cat then remove it and see if the car will start. To much back pressure from the exhaust will cause the engine not to draw fuel into the cylinders.

Kill switch for what ? Chevy's do not have kill switches ! You need to watch what you mess with on new vehicles , you have no idea of the electronics incorporated into your vehicle . You can play with the wiring if you want but mess with the wrong stuff you can render your vehicle useless ! Take it to the dealer !

IN FRONT OF THROTTLE BODY IN THE INTAKE TUBE WILL HAVE WIRES CONNECTED TO IT

You may have replaced with a chipped ignition. I'm not sure how that would effect your starting, but my car will run for 2 seconds if I start with a non chipped car, then dies. This is an absolute guess, sorry I can't be more accurate.

buy a genuine chevy wiring harness for the dash which will include the fusebox inner. it is quite a job and the part is over 500.00 good luck

they are all under the hood in the fuse block look at the back of the cover and it tells you which one it is ,

you mite have to specail order this item, you also look on line. some junk yard will sale you one they usaully have 30 day warranty this will be hard part to find. dealer first.

would need to see it to know whats wrong sorry ,but i saw the new one on top gear brit TV and the new chevy corvette with all that carbon fibre suspension went faster than a porshe around the circuit and didnt kick out ,i mean this is a first a american muscle car that can do bends as well and still cheaper than a F type jag or a porsche ,over 20.000 pounds cheaper than the cheapest europeon sports car and its only rear wheel drive not 4x4 like the porsche ,

Usually means the plastic ears are broken on the switch, or someone left the cancelling pin/tab out of the steering wheel. The pin pushes the ear on the switch when you turn the wheel.
