U need to replace the headlight bulb, high and low beams are separate filaments inside the bulb, one can burn out and the other still work. if you are very
mechanically inclined you can do this yourself, but it is quite a job. here are the instructions to do that.
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
- Pliers (optional)
- Socket wrench (optional)
- Screwdriver (optional)
- Replacement bulb(s)
-
Step 1
Obtain a replacement bulb compatible with your vehicle. If visiting your local auto parts store, ask a representative to show you which bulbs are compatible with your vehicle. See the resources to find bulbs online.
-
Step 2
Pop your hood and examine your headlight assembly. Look directly behind the headlight to see if you need tools to access it. Most cars allow easy access to the headlight bulb without tools; others may require removal of a protective cover.
-
Step 3
Turn your engine off and remove any covers or parts blocking the rear of the headlight assembly.
-
Step 4
Grasp the headlight module from the rear of the headlight assembly. Twist the module counterclockwise to release it, and then pull straight out to remove it.
-
Step 5
Pull the bulb from the headlight module to disconnect it. Install the new bulb in its place.
-
Step 6
Place the module back in the rear of the headlight assembly and twist it clockwise to lock it.
-
Step 7
Replace any panels you removed to access the rear of the headlight assembly.
2008 saturn aura xe service esc comes on
My first suggestion to try for this car is to disconnect the battery, take and pull the access panel on the fuse box on the passenger side of the vehicle. Buy a pack of dilectric grease at autozone or another part store the small packets (usualy 1.27 or something) then unbolt the ground wires which are located in the fuse access towards front put grease on it and tighten down bolts again. Making sure they go completly flush on my car there was a burr in the middle of the threads and this fixed my issues. I was having random service esc, and airbag light on and various other gremlins at diffreent times. It Fixed mine it's worth a try.

A COMPONENT WHERE THE SERPENTINE
Hello drmenefee,
The coolant is probably coming from the water pump just to the right facing of the harmonic balance pulley the bottom most loop. See the diagram below.
A/C hot at idle intermittently.
Different names are used fot the same part on many cars. I havent actually heard the term "air charge speed actuator" It is also impossible to look this term up in the service manual because You did not mention the YEAR, MODEL or ENGINE SIZE of your Saturn.
I would say that since the name includes the word "actuator" then it CONTROLS something - not MEASURE something. Sensors measure things, actuators control things. If it is happening only intermittently, then something like an actuator makes sense. Actuators can stick and sometimes work if they want to. Again, I could provide a more helpful answer if you provide complete vehicle information so I can look up what we are talking about.
My car started over heating
Brake fluid is hygroscopic (pulls in moisture from the atmosphere). Putting water in there is definitely very bad for the system because water will readily mix with the fluid and can actually boil as you made a hard stop.
First thing to do is remove the fluid from the reservoir using a turkey baster or siphon. Re-fill with fresh fluid, then bleed the front wheels, doing that 'till the master is nearly empty, Re-fill and do the same at the rear brakes. Repeat entire procedure twice. Unlike normal bleeding, you don't add while you are doing the procedure but run the reservoir nearly empty, only adding fluid when it comes close to empty. And, you begin at the front instead of the rear. Do not let the reservoir become empty or air will enter the system.
After completing the flush, it's a good idea to empty the reservoir and re-fill once or twice in the next few weeks just to make sure no more water is in there.
You didn't mention what you did about the overheating but make sure that's taken care of asap or the least of your problems will be the brakes!!

You might want to see if it might be low on 134a . Testing gauge can be bought at any auto parts store. Always check your a[c ounces ratio first. Auto parts store can do that. Refer to instructions for proper use. Use proper tools when working with things that are under preasure.
Need to replace rear turn
- There are either some wing-nuts or some bolts in any case holding the trim on. You may need to pull back some carpeting or matting from the area first to expose this area. They are there. The wing-nut may be the same color as the paneling and they will be plastic so the may be a tad difficult to spot. Use a flashlight to get a real good view of the area.
- The next step is to pull three more wing-nuts/bolts off of the tail light assemble itself.
- Now gently wiggle the tail light assemble out.
- Now twist the bulb assembly out for the bulb you wish to replace.
- Now reverse to re-assemble.
- If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask.
Regards,
Tony
