2009 Chevy Malibu 3.6. Thermostat housing torque spec please.

Question turned around for clarity. Question moved to model category. Probably the same as Impala? https://www.justanswer.com/chevy/7fo9e-chevrolet-impala-lt-need-torque-thermostat-housing.html I just learned that there was revised torque specs for this engine. I missed that bulletin current specs, 89 inch lbs or 7.4 ft lbs. Best idea is tight and a little bit more. https://www.google.com/search?q=2009+Chevy+Malibu+3.6.+Thermostat+housing+torque+spec Service Manuals https://www.google.com/search?q=2009+Chevy+Malibu+3.6.+%22service+manual%22 ..

Can I unplug my 09 malibu passenger seat air bag plug and take my seat out and drive it without having to take it to dealer to reset code?

Yes you can't drive it with the seat out. The air bag light will stay on and the air bags will be inoperative. Once you reinstall the seat everything should go back to normal.

2004 chevy malibu driver and passenger door lock problems

The locks on your vehicle are electronically controlled by the BCM - body control module . The driver an passenger door switche's are input's to the BCM . Do you know anything about automotive electronic's ? anti theft alarm remote, could this be part of the problem , No it's just a key less entry remote , nothing to do with the anti-theft . Door Lock System Components The Power Door Lock System consists of the following components: • Body control module (BCM) • Driver door lock switch • Front passenger door lock switch • Door lock actuators in each of the doors • IBCM (PWR) 15-amp fuse Door Lock System Controls The Power Door Lock System is controlled by the body control module (BCM) and can be activated by any one of the following: • A door lock switch Lock or Unlock actuation • A keyless entry transmitter actuation • An automatic door lock actuation • An automatic door unlock actuation • A last door closed locking (LDCL) actuation Driver and Passenger Door Unlock Operation w/o Keyless Entry When the body control module (BCM) detects a transition of either of the door lock switches to the Unlock position, it switches the door lock actuator unlock control circuits to voltage. Since the door lock actuator lock control circuit is at ground potential within the BCM, the driver passenger door lock actuators transition to the Unlock position. Your best bet , take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop ! Need special tool to diagnose . Power Door Locks Inoperative Install a scan tool. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the door lock switch parameter in the Doors data list. Does the scan tool display Idle? YES - Go to Step 4 NO - Go to Step 8 4 Activate the driver door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions. Does the scan tool display Idle? YES - Go to Step 9 NO - Go to Step 5 5 Activate the front passenger door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions. Does the scan tool display Idle? YES - Go to Step 9 NO - Go to Step 6 6 With a scan tool, observe the driver door lock actuator command and the passenger door lock actuator command parameters in the Doors data list. Activate a door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

HEADLIGHTS DO NOT WORK, BUT HIGH BEAMS DO AND SO DO TURN SIGNALS AND SIDE MARKERS

The HID requires a ballast, did you do any rewiring? Did you check the fuses? Unplug the relay either hi or low, use jumper wire between terminals 30 and 87, the lamps should work, I'm talking about your regular lamps. If they work with the jumper, then check control side of relay. malibu headlamps-n3gdy1s0yelmttnhr2yepr4t-2-0.jpg

On a 2009 malibu 3.6 What makes the temperature gauge on the inside stop working and the heater seams to not be as hot but full of antifreeze and a new thermast was put in.

Check the temperature sending unit (sensor) on the engine. A faulty sensor could also be interacting with your HVAC giving it the wrong temperature reading (i.e. a very low or no value).

I went to autozone and they did a diagnostic test. i got a code p0304 cylinder 4 misfire. what does anyone suggest ?

Dear Earl, You have not supplied me with the year, make, or model of the vehicle, but for the past (about 20) years, the most common answer to your problem in the USA would be a bad "coil pack". This is usually a tall skinny plastic thing that makes the spark for the spark plug, and has a wire connection on the bottom to energize it. The top of it has either a hole for the spark plug wire, or a wire that goes to the spark plug. The number of coil packs are according to the number of cylinders/spark plugs in the engine. ( Usually 4 or 6.) God bless your efforts.

I just got my alternator fixed then i started having the ESC serv ice light come on, and the trac symbol comes up and the engine light flashes. and the power is reduced and it jerks when driving

its possible that the incorrect voltage regulator was fitted to the alternator during the repair. A low voltage or irregular voltage from the alternator can cause havoc with vehicle electronics

Does it have hydraulic power steering or electronic power steering?

You should contact a dealer because there is a recall on the make and model of the car that has those. Otherwise it is going to be expensive. It is a power assisted pump system. The cost for the assist motor is over 400

What do I replace if my Auto door locks won't work

First off testing would need to be done to determen what the cause is . The door locks on your vehicle are controlled by a computer ,BCM - body control module . The first test would be to check for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes in the BCM . An to do this you would need a factory scan tool , not a OBD2 code reader . Door Lock System Components The Power Door Lock System consists of the following components: • Body control module (BCM) • Driver door lock switch • Front passenger door lock switch • Reversible door lock actuator in each of the doors • IBCM (PWR) 15-amp fuse • Driver door cylinder switch, if equipped Door Lock System Controls The Power Door Lock System is controlled by the body control module (BCM) and can be activated by any one of the following: • A door lock switch lock or unlock actuation • A keyless entry transmitter actuation • An automatic door lock or unlock actuation • A last door closed locking (LDCL) actuation If the driver door cylinder switch feature of the vehicle is functional, the locks may also be operated by a driver door cylinder switch lock or unlock activation. Your best bet would be to take to a ASE certified repair shop or the dealer.Because if the BCM were the problem an had to be replaced , it would need programming . Each door lock switch is wired to the body control module (BCM) through a separate door lock/unlock signal circuit. While these circuits are separated between the BCM and respective door lock switch, they are connected into a single circuit within the BCM. The BCM supplies voltage through the door lock/unlock signal circuits to each door lock switch. When either door lock switch is operated, this supply voltage is pulled to ground, providing the BCM with the required lock or unlock signal. In order for the BCM to distinguish between a lock and unlock signal, the lock switch contains two separate paths for this voltage to flow to the same body ground. When the switch is operated to the unlock position, the supply voltage flows to ground through a 1.5K ohm resistor. When the switch is operated to the lock position, the supply voltage flows to ground through a different part of the switch circuit, which has no resistor. The BCM then interprets the flow of voltage as a lock or unlock request and powers the door lock actuators to the appropriate lock or unlock position.

2009 Chevy malibu radio is not working doesn't power on. The blinkers does not sound when in either . Could it be a fuse? Where is the fuse for this ?

Probably. Check the owners manual. On some models there are TWO fuses connected with the radio. One powers up the radio when you turn the key on, the other is on all the time to keep the clock, preset stations, etc. stored. Owners manual should tell you where they are located... Good Luck

My 2009 mailbu speedometer goes crazy while driving. Also when backing up or at a complete stop it turns off then I have to turn off the car and crank it up again. What can be the problem?

Sounds like a bad instrument cluster (typical GM problem). I am afraid the only solution that I know of is to replace the cluster. There are shops that repair clusters but check their prices .vs junk yard prices. Of course, your odometer will not be that same as it is now.... Maybe someone else has a better idea... Good Luck.
