2003 ford explorer - sometimes

This is most likely going to be an issue with a relay. The relay on the fords that is tied into the blinker module can go bad is it gets wet or over loaded. Are there any after market things added to your vehichle? This can also be caused by overloading part of your ECU if you have after market headlights, or headlights that carry too high a load. When it blinks for 3-4 times and stops, does it blink faster than normal? This can be a sign of a false connection to the light itself. Such as having the wrong bulb in for the blinker.

My 1996 Ford explorer it was running fine the day before, it won't start. Seems like it wants to start. I plugged the code reader up and it wont connect. I'm stumped.

Check all fuses includeing main fuse if all good. While cranking check for spark if spark present check for fuel pressure , if no spark test coil if coil is good I would suspect a bad computer if no fuel pressure you have a bad fuel pump

1991 Ford Explorer 4.0. It has high revs 2000-2500 and do not fall.

  1. Throttle control problems: A sticky throttle control or a malfunctioning throttle position sensor could be causing the high revs.
  2. Ignition system issues: A faulty ignition module or spark plugs could cause the engine to run rich, causing high revs.
  3. Vacuum leaks: A vacuum leak can cause the engine to run lean, leading to high revs. Check for any visible leaks in the vacuum lines and hoses.
  4. Fuel system problems: A clogged fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, or a malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator could cause high revs.
  5. EGR valve: A clogged or sticking EGR valve could cause the engine to rev high.
It's recommended to have a professional mechanic diagnose the issue using an OBD-II scanner to retrieve the error codes and perform a proper diagnosis. Based on the error codes and the symptoms, they can determine the root cause of the problem and recommend the necessary repairs.

2006 Ford Expedition won't change gears?

It is likely to be a shift solenoid, you need an auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to read the codes and diagnose operation of all the solenoids.

Horn on 1998 Explorer

Looking at the front of the vehicle, the horn is on the right side, top, behind the grill. (So if you open the hood, stand near the driver's fender, look to your left, in front of the radiator support, your should see the horns). Can't tell you why they don't work, could be fuses, horn switch, or the horn itself.

1998 Ford Explorer. Where is starting solenoid located on it please?

Check your fuse boxes and the fusible link in the wiring harness. If you've lost power to the engine computer, bypassing the ignition switch won't help you.

I have a 1999 Ford

Have you checked under the hood in the engine compartment? I do believe there is a fuse box there with fuse for the brake/reverse.

Can't get power to foglights on my 2003 Explorer

Likely there is a relay that operates the lights. I believe it is a relay that operates when the on/off switch grounds the relay, kind of like the horn relay. The relay may have lost a connection -- power in wire or ground wire to the on/off switch. Or the power wire into the relay or out to the lights may have become disconnected. Try turning the lights on and off several times in a quiet location and listen for an electrical relay clicking. The under hood fuse/relay block may contain this relay. You'll have to trace wires from there until you find the lost connection, or bench test the relay with a battery and ohmmeter. Check fuses too. All fuses and relays will be identified in the owners manual or under the fuse block cover. G'luck.

I have a 1996 ford explorer, the person who had it

Look for inst. lites fuse and clean the connectors at the fuse panel. The stereo speakers might have come loose from a poor wiring job. Look under the dash below the radio. Sometimes the dash light switch gets worn and doesn't work until you mess with it a little.
