How to fold the rear seats in malibu 2011?

You should notice a looped strap of cloth next to the head rest at the top of the seat. That is the release for the seatback lock. Simultaneously pull up on the strap and pull the head rest forward to fold the seat forward. The seats are split 60/40, so each seat has its own release looped strap.

What is the reason for Panasonic Stereo (MALIBU CAR) one side sound not coming

Are you an electronics engineer. Do you have all the test equipment. Can you read wiring schematics. If the answer to any of the above is 'No', you will have a hard time. You can check the 'Balance' knob setting first as you may have all the sound directed to one side. Check the wiring connector on the back, but that is about it. ..

97 Malibu. V6-3100. Starter turns engine, but car

I think you may have answered your own question. I would check to see if the fuel pump is turning on when you turn the key on to the run position. You should hear a buzz sound coming from the gas tank. I would start there.

How replace trunk lid torsion bar 2005 malibu

There are two rods, one has rubber on it. I just replaced the one with rubber on it. Looking at the one rod that was still in place, you can see it mirrors the rod you are going to replace, the placement is just opposite the one that is in there. The rod has a left end that is a square "C" shape, and the right end has a "V" bend right before the end. First position the rod above the seat release cables (if you have them) then position the "V" end near the inside right top of the trunk. Then slide the left "C" end into one of the three slots (I used the bottom slot). Leave it loose so it can rotate with just the tip in the slot. Slide the rod to the right so the "V" is above the spring clip (don't clip it in yet). The right side and the left side of the "V" has to fit into the tabs underneath and inside the top of the trunk. Compare to the left side to see how it fits. Once in place, you can then lower the "V" down to the clip and snap it over the bottom tip of the "V". These steps are easier if the trunk is propped not fully open. I had someone lower the trunk part way while I lay on my back inside the trunk, and I used a small open end wrench to bend the rod slightly to get it to fit into the tabs. The final step is to position the left side of the rod so the torque will hold the lid open. I used a small open end wrench, placed it over the tip in the slot and rotated CW upward until straight part of the rod slid over the hook to hold it in place. This last step had me concerned that I could bend or break the rod, but I went slowly and carefully and was quite happy when it snapped into place and held the lid open.

2009 Chevy Malibu 3.6. Thermostat housing torque spec please.

Question turned around for clarity. Question moved to model category. Probably the same as Impala? https://www.justanswer.com/chevy/7fo9e-chevrolet-impala-lt-need-torque-thermostat-housing.html I just learned that there was revised torque specs for this engine. I missed that bulletin current specs, 89 inch lbs or 7.4 ft lbs. Best idea is tight and a little bit more. https://www.google.com/search?q=2009+Chevy+Malibu+3.6.+Thermostat+housing+torque+spec Service Manuals https://www.google.com/search?q=2009+Chevy+Malibu+3.6.+%22service+manual%22 ..

2012 Chevrolet Malibu. I ran through a puddle of water and now have no power to the starter?

Question edited for clarity/spelling, wrong 'threw', wrong 'know'. Question moved to model category. Test Relays 31 and 32 https://fuse-box.info/chevrolet/chevrolet-malibu-2008-2012-fuses-and-relay Interesting diagnostics on the second video., probably not relevant to your issue, but then again, a quick douse in cold water could crack that bus wire if it was hot. It also shows how good auto electricians are.

My 2005 Chevy Malibu dashboard

Hello Liz.
I went over your question and looked for a common problem for them both.
There are two different problems according to diagrams.
First, the cigarette lighter. Most times I see this problem it is in the lighter socket or the lighter shorting out.
One 20 amp fuse supplies power to cigarette lighters and power outlets. There is a separate fuse for the rear power outlet if it has one.
Look for any foreign materials inside each of the outlet sockets. If the lighter is used I would suspect it is the most likely suspect.
This is a diagram for the lighter circuit.

Next is the instrument panel. Make sure your panel dimmer is turned all the way up.(OK, you probably checked this already, but I need to cover all of it).
There are several bulbs in the circuit. If only the dash light bulbs (there are 4 of them) are out you may need to pull the instrument panel to access the problem.
If all dash lights are out the fuse for it may be burned as well and you will have to trace the short in the circuit.

There is also a bulletin regarding panel dimming. I also have added it to here.

TECHNICAL
Subject:
Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Backlighting Inoperative During Daylight Hours (Reprogram BCM) Models:
2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Maxx
2005-2006 Chevrolet Cobalt
2006 Chevrolet HHR
2005-2006 Pontiac G6, Pursuit (Canada Only)
2006 Pontiac Solstice
2007 Saturn Sky Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 7Y102344 Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to add a statement that backlighting is only active during daylight hours with headlamps manually turned on. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 06-08-49-016A (Section 08 - Body & Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment that the backlighting on the IPC does not illuminate in the daylight hours with headlamps manually turned on. They may further state that the backlighting does function at night, but not in the day time.
Cause
On these vehicles, backlighting for the IPC is not enabled unless the vehicle's lighting photocell determines that there is a nighttime ambient condition. Backlighting is not controlled through the use of the park lamp or headlamp switch. The conditions under which the photocell activates the backlighting may not satisfy each particular customer's personal expectations, or the customer may simply prefer to have the backlighting always illuminated on the IPC when headlamps are manually turned on.
Correction
Module reprogramming must be done using the Pass-Thru method. Select "Instrument Panel (Backlight Dimming Fix ONLY)" from the Supported Controllers list.
For customers who wish to have the IPC backlighting illuminated, a new service calibration is now available that will activate the backlighting to full intensity during daytime hours with headlamps manually turned on. Reprogram the BCM using SPS. The new calibrations are currently available on TIS2WEB.

Tracing what used to be simple electrical problems in todays vehicles has become not so simple anymore. If you need more help with this, please ask me here in comments.
Thank you for using Fixya.

I have a ssangyong rexton and it wont start it

There's a number of possible reasons.
You don't mention if the engine turns over in the attempt, and you don't say which light is on.
A SsangYong service person can plug in a diagnostic tool to see what error codes are present.

Are there 1 or 2 wires that go on power side of starter

A typical starter motor on an internal combustion engine has two wires that connect to the power side of the starter. The first wire is the battery cable, which is connected to the positive terminal of the battery. This wire carries power from the battery to the starter motor. The second wire is the solenoid wire, which is connected to the solenoid on the starter motor. The solenoid is an electromagnet that, when energized, completes the circuit between the battery cable and the starter motor. Please note that, I am assuming you are talking about a car starter, in case you are talking about another type of starter please let me know to give you more specific information.

Possible electrical problem with my 2015 Chevy Malibu

Question moved from Spanish company Seat (pronounced See-At) to Malibu category. The passenger seat airbag only fires in a crash if there is someone sitting on the passenger seat. There is a sensor in the seat cushion that register a person sitting there. Under the seat there will be a connector, take it apart and spray it with electrical contact cleaner.
