How do you remove the
Push throttle body lever toward the back of the engine. Block it from moving forward. The cable should be loose enough to remove from the pedal. There is a white plastic grommet that needs to pop out of the pedal, this can be done by applying upward pressure on the white grommet with your thumbs and the white grommet will pop out. Slide the cable through the slit at the top of the pedal and it is disconnected.
1997 Chevy Cavalier. How do I bypass the anti-theft system forever?
Question edited for clarity and correct name of vehicle.
You can't bypass it Cherie, it involves transponder chips, receivers and the engine computer (ECM).. The anti-theft system is there to stop theft of the vehicle, basically what you are trying to do. You have to fix the system, not find a way around it. This is the reset. As long as you battery is good and fully charged, it should only need doing once.
Just leave the key in the run position and the "Theft System " light on the dash will be flashing. Leave the key on for about 10 minutes and the light will stop flashing and go on solid. Then the theft system is disable

Hello: my gas gauge is
you should be able to find the fuel tank harness under the car near the fuel tank. If you look just in front of the rear axle on the drivers side you will see two connectors Unplug the connector with the grey, purple, black, and black/white wires.
Ground the purple wire. Turn the key to the run position. The gauge should read full. If it does you have a bad sending unit (the part in the tank that tells the gauge what the fuel level is at).
If the gauge still reads empty you have a bad gauge. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

Can I use 10w-40?
Hi,,my name Keith...and yes..you can use 10w-40 ..and you probably should..since your car is 6 years old and probably has over 100,000 miles..which means you have engine wear..which means the moving parts in your engine does not have the same clearances as when it was new...and thats why the say use 5w-30 when your car is new..also..if you take your car into a garage or a place like Jiffy Lube..thats the only kind of oil they use..is 10w-40..i hope this helps

First check to make sure that this alt. is good. As it spins it should give you a reading right from the alt. itself. Check it directly with a volt meter.
91 automatic Cavalier stalls after stopping
It sounds like the torque converter clutch. Just unplug it. It is the square 4 pin plug on the front of the transmission. Once it is unplugged and you get it unlocked, it will be fine. Just leave it unplugged, it won't hurt anything.
Camshaft position sensor location
At the right rear of the engine under the intake manifold and to the left of the oil filter. You will probably need to go under the car to spot it, it's the sensor with a three-wire connector
arranged vertically. But you can take it out from above. It's held in with a single bolt with an eight MM head located just above the sensor.
Un-clip and remove the electrical connector. Unscrew the bolt with a socket wrench & extension bar. Wiggle and pull the sensor out.
here is a picture.
