Replace the wiper motor assembly. I would guess that you have destroyed the logic in the control assembly. Electronics do not like being reversed on polarity.

What causes the P0106 code? The MAP circuit for range and performance problem may have several causes:

• The source of the problem is that the MAP sensor range voltage output is incorrect and out of the programmed input required by the ECU.
• The most common problem is an air intake system vacuum or intake hose being loose, cracked, or missing it's plastic fittings and clamps.
• The wiring or MAP sensor may be bad, brittle, cracked, have a bad connection, or could be too close to the higher voltage consumption components, especially alternators, ignition wires, etc. A poor electrical ground can cause problems also.
• The sensor itself may simply be operating out of range from fatigue in it's internal components.
• MAP sensors must operate within specific ranges to send correct signals for the ECU to coordinate with the throttle position sensor and adjust correctly for proper engine operation.
• If the engine is not in good condition, is missing, has poor fuel pressure, or there is an internal issue with the engine like a burned valve, it can prevent the MAP sensor from getting a correct output.
• The ECU could also be bad but that is rare.

What are the symptoms of the P0106 code? P0106 code will be generally preceded by the Check Engine Light coming on the dashboard display. The vehicle in most cases will not run well, idle poorly, accelerate erratically, run rich, and backfire because the MAP sensor and throttle position sensor will not operate together properly. How does a mechanic diagnose the P0106 code? P0106 is diagnosed with an OBD- II scanner. A qualified technician should then reset the OBD- II fault codes and perform a road test of the vehicle to see if the code comes back. He can observe this by watching live data streaming on his scanner while driving. If the code comes back, then the mechanic will need to do a close inspection to see if the vacuum line and other hoses on the intake system are missing, loose, damaged, or disconnected. If these things appear to be correct, the technician should do a voltage output test on the sensor while the engine is running to determine if the output voltages fluctuate with engine speed and load on the engine. Check that all grounds are operating correctly, since any ground related to the ECU could cause signal fluctuations from sensors. Common mistakes when diagnosing the P0106 code. Diagnostic errors are largely due to not following the proper procedure. First, follow the test procedure in the diagnosis to insure there is no intake air leak like a bad vacuum hose or connection. The technician must verify that the voltage output of the MAP sensor is correct and fluctuates with the engine speed and proper voltage. Idle voltage is normally 1 to 1.5 volts and full throttle is usually around 4.5 volts. Do not buy a new MAP Sensor or ECU unless it is clearly at fault.

By 2005 many cars were hardly cars at all and really resembled wheeled computers - semiconductors everywhere and one thing semiconductors dislike more than anything (apart from being struck by lightning) is being fed with reversed polarity current. Connecting a battery the wrong way around, even for a second, has been known to cause so much electronic damage in some cases as to economically write-off the car. I guess you were very very lucky to only have a problem with wiper parking, though I wouldn't be surprised to hear of more problems later. I advise you to obtain a wiring diagram to discover the best place to check for the problem. GM tend to use a single computer to provide all the timed functions but whether they still use an electronic relay for the wipers, I am unable to comment about.

It is possible that one of the door lock actuators is failing and it is not locking completely and the system is trying to continue to lock it. Check to see if the stuttering noise is coming from only one door. If so then it most likely is the actuator in that door.

Anti theft mode did the battery cables get disconnected or are they corroded if so the power was lost and came back but the alarm sounded or just the power loss put the car in theft mode clean the battery cables with alcohol and a rag then reconnect them when the alarm sounds use you remote control to stop it and then start the car

The problems stated above seem to be caused by SP101 (specifically contact #1) being burned and contact 3 (dash lights), and contacts 2, 4, & 5 not receiving power. SP101 is located inside the fuse box under the hood. It is a white, 20 pin connector that splices wires internally. Either replace the connector and the purple/white wire, or solder/splice the wires together and solder or crimp. I don't know if the dealer sells the splice, I'm looking into that because I need it. I don't know why this splice malfunctions and the left side (identical) doesn't. Unfortunately, this is common in the Aveo and the dealer mechanics seem to be totally clueless!

You probably fried the computer . Try a salvage yard one ,cheaper then new , probably would also need programming . (dealer )

Spray some starter fluid into the throttle body. If it starts, you have a fuel system problem. If it does not start, you have electrical issues. Hook up a scanner for a better diagnostic directions so that there is less guessing.

No offence intended but when you need to ask that sort of question you probably aren't competent enough or experienced enough to tackle the job or make the required decisions - whether or not machining is needed, whether things are clean enough, etc... Replacing a head gasket is rarely straightforward, is never a quick process if done correctly and needs a high degree of skill and experience for the finished job to be long lasting and reliable. There is hardly scope to list the procedure here and much of the process is largely intuitive based on experience - something that is better demonstrated and difficult to write.

Have your dealer repair it , shorting a wire can deploy the air bag and cause many dollars worth of damage, not worth the risk.

the oxygen censer controls the air fuel ratio at 15 to 1, engines with carburetors nun at 14.7 to 1.
