Hi, You adjust the idle screw on the carburetor, to do this you will need to run the ATV, rev it and tweak the idle and throttle screws accordingly. Between revs you will need to adjust the idle screw and the throttle screw if needed.

Hi, Have you check the throttle cable to make sure it moves freely and it's not getting stuck? Have you also checked and cleaned the carburetor? The carburetor might need to be tweaked by lowering the throttle and raising the idle some.

A professional shop will charge from $85 to $110 per hour..depending on location...ask how they determine the charges... ALL manufacturers have a flat rate manual that SHOULD determine how many hours to will take...( When I was working in a shop.. I was usually about 1/2 hour behind on full overhauls..and could usually beat the flat rate on electrical issues).. Should be able to get out for about 4 - 5 hours..depends on if they have to remove the engine first...engine removal/reinstall is about another hour.

You should have a crankcase vent that keeps this from happening..(UNLESS it has a DRY SUMP oiling system).. the hose should be open and clear to prevent this.

Hey Richard, if nothing has changed or no one has worked on your Honda... you may have developed an air leak,,, this will cause sudden high idle. Other possibilities are a pinched throttle cable... or one that has been pulled out of the top of the carb...

Hey Scoot, I need a little more info,, if you have removed the battery cables, you may have hooked something up wrong..Did you replace the battery?? ; hopefully with an exact match of the old one.. double check you connections and reply to me.

Make sure your filter is clean, throw in a new plug. Do you have a pipe or air box mods? If so you need a fuel injection programmer. Use the recommended settings from the programmer for the mods you have . If it is still a problem ... I would be looking at a dirty injector. Make sure you have good gas and plenty I the tank.

Be sure the plug at the rear of the engine ic properly attached and clean. It gets knocked off easily.

take the choke out of the carb using a 14mm wrench. The choke is a plunger held into the front of the carb by a plastic nut. Lubricate it and put it back. Be careful not to overtighten the plastic nut.
