Whirlpool Washing Machines - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

In 2006 whirlpool Corp bought Maytag. In my opinion Maytag had the best washers and whirlpool the best dryers. My Maytag washer pre merger. Collected small amounts of water. I had it serviced and watched the repairman. Removed panel to open up the inside. Basically it was a partially clogged drain. If I recall there was clamp to release to open. Unclog the tube. If you have pets in house this is a common issue. A little water will not be an issue.

From the internet: If F9E1 (drain pump system problem - long drain) appears in display, the washer is taking too long to drain water. The drain may extend more than 4.5" (114 mm) into standpipe. Check plumbing for correct drain hose installation. Use drain hose form and attach securely to drainpipe or tub. Do not tape over drain opening.
Also make sure that the drain hose end is higher than 36 inches from the floor. If not, the washer could siphon (fills and drains at the same time).
Lower drain hose if the end is higher than 96" (2.4 m) above the floor. Remove any clogs from drain hose.

From the internet: So this error means that something is going on with the pressure switch on the washer because it thinks the tub is overfilled with water which is why the unit won't unlock the door. If the unit is less than 1 year old, call warranty and they will come out and repair the unit at no charge. Otherwise, the pressure switch is located under the top panel of the washer against the right side. It has a small rubber hose and several wires going to it. You'll want to disconnect the rubber hose and blow through it to make sure it's clear. Also make sure there are no small holes in the hose going to the bottom of the tub in case the tub rubbed a hole in the hose or something like that. If it all checks good, then replace the pressure switch.

Simplest answer is a blockage in the pipe from the dispenser to the Drum.
If you take out the dispenser draw, sometimes little tricky, there is normally a lip at the back that stops you pulling it out accidentally, you just need to depress this or wiggle it out. once out Clean it, some dispensers have a cap over the softener dispenser. you should be able to pull this off, if it does not work, put in the sink and poor warm water down the whole on the other side of the softener dispenser.
Once water flows through, clean the rest of the draw and where the draw fits and pop it back in and you should be good to go.
Keep it clean, say once every few months.

According to the manufacturer, the error means the door could not lock. Check the door for obstructions when you close. To remove error, reboot the washer.

F7 - E1 Common switch wire is defective Common wire (+5VDC) to latch switch, and to door switch is shorted to chassis ground or neutral.
1. Check connections at control and at the latch switch and door switch.
2. If all connections are good, then check the individual switches.

According to https://www.justanswer.com/appliance/7w4q8-f01-e02-error-code-showing-whirlpool-front.html, it indicates that the controller isn't getting readings from drum tachometer. Could possibly be loose wire. Replacement parts said to be $200, so may not be worth buying.

you might be able to sell to someone willing to diagnose & fix.

what's the full model number ?i've never worked on one of these and sure sooner or later i will get a call for one so i started to check it out, from what i've found like on older whirlpool top loaders there's a hall sensor or speed or position sensor on the motor and this could be the problem
also i found a video from whirlpool and they show the error 551,they show that it could be from oversudsing, the washer is trying to pump out the water and if there's to much suds it can't pump suds so the motor could overheat,if there's water still in tub i would check the pump to see if anything is in there.send model number i'd like to check it out.
