Whirlpool Washing Machines - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

I have a late 80's American Standard Whirlpool tub. It has a single wire electrical on/off switch. The switch is not working properly. I don't understand how the switch works. Where do I find a new switch that's not an air switc? Also, there's no access panel to the pump.

Whirlpool sm8525079 - we had the transmission fixed on our whirlpool washer a little over a year ago. Went to move the washer to replace the hoses and realized the top is only fastened down in the back left corner. Can anyone direct me in how to get this fastened back together? Does it look like I'm missing parts? Do I take the back panel off first to get to these fastening points? I'm frustrated that I didn't catch this when this was last repaired so I could have told the repairman to get it put together correctly. Thanks for any help!

I have a whirlpool washer about 10 yrs old, not sure of model. Machine just ran for over 10 hrs yesterday. Did not overflow just keeps putting water in drains and never spins out.

It really can be a few things. On a 10 yr old washer I would not spend any money. If you can not go new I can always get a working washer for $100 or less on CL or Facebook Market Place

I installed a new lid switch for my cabrio whirlpool washer model #wtw7600xw2 and the DL code is still on

If lid switch didn’t correct problem and it was installed correctly, then control board is most likely the problem

We have bought a second hand Whirlpool WF665. It can only cope with really, really small loads of washing - or it isn't strong enough to agitate it. Is there something wrong with the machine?

MY WHIRLPOOL WASHER TURNS ON AND THE LID LOCKS BUT IT CONTINUES THE SENSE THE LOAD AND IT'S MAKING A CLICKING NOISE???

Be sure water is cut on and cold is connected to cold and hot to hot. Also be sure screens in valve and hoses are not clogged. If water is ok, check drain pump for obstructions and operation

Whirlpool Duet Front Washer WFW9250WW01 control panel will not light up. there should be a click from the CCU when powered up and it does but if I press the power button it will not come on.

The reset for that unit is to unplug it from power for a minute and plug it back in.. Does that do anything?

Whirlpool Cabrio-There is a sound in the right back corner that sounds like a wire or something with a metal piece is dragging on the drum when it spins.

My cabrio washer goes thru the cycle with no problem till it gets to the last 19 minutes. It acts like it won't drian or spin and the SD code comes on. There is water in the tub that wont come out even aftwr removing it and tipping it upside down. Please help

Sd typically indicates too many suds. Use less or correct type of detergent

I have a whirlpool duet washer Model WFW9150WW00. It stopped approximately 5 minutes into a he wash cycle and started emitting 3 beeps every few seconds. I have tried everything from shutting off the breaker for an hour, doing the normal reset sequence, attempted to run the rinse cycle, checked the filter, which was empty. I should note I had to reach up and release the door manually because it would not release. When I turn the washer on it continues to emit the 3 beeps, no matter what I try. Any ideas what is causing the issue?

I couldn't find information that exactly confirms what is wrong, but Google web search the following terms together and choose the first search result:

It sounds like you could have a bad motor control unit. The thread discusses how to diagnose whether it's that or not. Could also be a bad door switch or possibly use of too much detergent or non-HE detergent. If it's the motor control unit, it might not be worth replacing as the post said the cost was about 1/2 that of a new washer.

While I can't give direct advice, hopefully the posts on the other site may be of help.
