There maybe a centrifugal switch that is stuck on the end cover of the Gen I think. Hope this helps.

Then most likely GenSet breaker trip is due to a ground fault. Isolate the fault as follows.

Open all breakers in the Winnie. Start generator without the power cable from the Winnie connected. Connect power cable from Winnie and wait a few seconds. If no trip, turn on main (disconnect) breaker in Winnie. Wait a few seconds, if no trip then proceed to turn on each circuit one at a time.
