Sounds as though you have the same problem that I had, which caused me to switch to Apple, and I've never had a problem since.

Androids seem to slow down considerably with use. I think it's due to more dross and trash being stored on it, which we cannot see, plus a reduction in battery efficiency.

I got round it by doing a reset and re-installing the OS. It's a pain in the ****, but afterwards, it ran like it always used to, for about a month or so, then started to slow again. After six months of this, I bought an iPhone Best thing I ever did. Got rid of Windows pc, Android tablet and I'm all Apple now and they all talk to each other. Hope this helps.

That's right, if it is within it's warranty period, return it. On the other hand if it is out of warranty and you are somewhat mechanically inclined, you can open it up. The screws are in the bottom of the unit under the feet. Take them out, open it up and you will see there are connector(s) on the circuit board you see 1st. Unplug the connectors, clean things up as you go also. Do take note of the orientation of the connectors. Once that board is out, you will see another smaller one under it, and the motor w/mechanical parts attached. The small circuit board is the optic that senses the position, likely has tobacco dust obstructing it. Either remove it and dust it off, or use some canned air and blow things out. While in that far, check the mechanical parts for wear, they should not be too loose. There is play in them, but not sloppy. Hope that helps :)
