Question about Buick Cars & Trucks
You need to eliminate 3 possible variables that are leading to this problem. Any engine only needs 3 things to run- Air, Fuel, and Spark. This applies to small engines, all automotive engines, etc. A diesel differs some but that doesn’t matter here. You need to check for spark, do so by removing a spark plug(the easiest one you can access) and then plug it into the plug wire as normal, hold the metal of the spark plug against the engine block to ground it and have a friend or girlfriend, wife, brother, grandma or just anyone hold the key in the start position to turn the motor over- you should clearly see a spark between the body and the electrode of the spark plug, move it around some of you don’t see it at first to ensure a proper ground, if you don’t see spark that’s your issue. It sounds like you have fuel, Air should be no issue unless the intake system or air filter is clogged which is possible but unlikely. Is there a check engine light on?
I wouldn’t be surprised if you may have interfered with the anti-theft system and that’s causing this issue, since you mentioned the stereo installation, maybe not an issue at all but if no spark is present you should take another look at that, and get a free diagnostic scan from a local parts store, call a friend with a scanner, or do something to confirm what’s wrong before buying parts blindly.
My friend just had a very similar issue, a local garage said crankshaft position sensor, then mass air flow sensor, do a tune up, blah blah blah. I hooked up a scanner that set me back a whopping $30 which pairs to my iPhone via Bluetooth and was able to quickly determine the issue was an ignition related one, he wasted $400 per the Local Garage’s advice, it was a simple $26 fix as it simply needed plugs and wires. I’m just saying, don’t thriw parts at it and waste money unless you’re a rich man Unlike myself and it doesn’t matter, lol. Good Luck and You’ll Get it, you’re obviously ahead of many as you know a bit about troubleshooting.

SOURCE: 1999 Yukon cold start problems.
1999 Yukon Start Issue - I have replaced the octopuse, battery, fuel filter, fuel pump, still having problems starting in cold weather, sometimes after a heavy rain.

could it be the A/C pump kicking in. might be boging down the motor or electrical circuit, not letting the injectors get enough power. This could happen if the bearings are going bad in th A/C pump or there is a short in it. Just an idea. sounds like you have done the main components.

Sounds to me like you may have left the air temp sensor or something electronic disconnected - Distributor - MAF sensor - go back and check and make sure that there's not an electrical pigtail somewhere hanging off - a vacuum leak wouldn't keep it from starting unless it were major - and your AUDI is mechanical injection I think - so fuel pull isn't a problem - check those connectors - let me know??? Thanks

Just a thought. How low was the tank when you filled up. I know alot of sediment builds up and have heard of similar problems. So I have made a habbit not to go below 1/4 tank to prevent from clogging the fuel system. That is what I would check. It sound like you have a good hold on the mechanical aspect. Verify your fuel inlet screen at the tank or the filter is not clogged. Only other thing I can reccomend after that is have a reputable shop do a systematic pressure check on the lines starting from the fuel source. Good luck.
